PM Wants Cambodia to Become World's Largest Cashew Producer

KAMPONG THOM: Prime Minister Hun Sen has expressed his ambition to turn Cambodia into the world's largest cashew producer, while Cambodia's cashew products have already been exported to Ivory Coast.

He added that Cambodia can now produce and export 1.1 million tons of cashew nuts, which is 80,000 tons more than what is exported to Ivory Coast.

"Cambodia, after peace, combined with the policy of safe villages and communes, is partly a tourist attraction and partly a supply for tourism," he added.

The Prime Minister made these remarks at the opening ceremony of the River Festival on Thursday night, 9 March 2023, in Kampong Thom province.
